Vicky's Success Story

One of the first things people notice about us is our smile. But when we’re uncomfortable with our smile, it can affect our self-confidence. In fact, according to a 2014 study commissioned by the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), one-third of Americans are unhappy with their smile. Add in chronic pain, and there’s often little to smile about. That’s the situation Vicky found herself in.

“I was very unhappy with the appearance of my teeth and in constant pain,” Vicky said.

Chronic headaches plagued Vicky on a consistent basis. Embarrassed by the state of her teeth, she didn’t smile often and avoided talking to people as a way to hide her teeth.

“I never wanted to smile and was very careful with what I ate,” Vicky said. “I didn’t socialize much because I didn’t want people to look at my teeth.”

With her wedding quickly approaching, she longed to have a smile that would make her feel normal and happy, so she decided to take matters into her own hands.

She began looking for a dentist who could help her obtain the smile she’d always wanted. But with each consultation, she kept striking out.

“All [of the] dentists I was going to weren’t listening to me,” Vicky said.

It’s a problem many patients encounter when selecting a dentist. Many dentists are unwilling to listen to their patients and involve them in the development of their own treatment plan. But after months of meticulous research and strike out after strike out with a slew of other dentists, Vicky found Dr. Stefania Caracioni at Enchanted Smiles and decided that she was the right dentist for her.

“I read her qualifications on her website then I set-up a free consultation with her,” Vicky said. “I felt very comfortable with her [because] she didn’t judge me.”

During her consultation, Dr. Caracioni discussed Vicky's concerns, determining what Vicky's priorities were and how best to address them. Dr. Caracioni took several x-rays and evaluated Vicky's oral health to develop the best course of action to get Vicky the results she wanted. After the consultation, Dr. Caracioni and Vicky developed a treatment plan together. Dr. Caracioni recommended tooth extractions, crowns, root canals and TMJ treatments to help treat Vicky chronic headaches.

After completing her treatment plan, Vicky has a renewed sense of self-confidence and a gorgeous new smile that she’s finally happy with and secure in. In addition to the dental procedures Dr. Caracioni performed, Vicky also underwent TMJ treatments to alleviate her headaches and chronic pain. Both the dental procedures and TMJ treatments have made a world of difference for Vicky. These days, she doesn’t hide her smile anymore, and her headaches are a thing of the past.

“I don’t think that if I would have gone to Dr. Caracioni, I would have received the treatment that I needed,” Vicky said. “She and her staff treated me and addressed the issues and concerns that I had. If I wouldn’t have felt like they really cared about me, I don’t think I would have gotten the treatments done. The staff and the dentist were so amazing to me.”

Unhappy with the state of her smile and struggling with chronic headaches and pain, Vicky searched long and hard to find a dentist that could address her dental concerns. After many failed consultations with dentists who she felt didn’t listen to her, she was hopeful when she met Dr. Caracioni. It proved to be a perfect match. Dr. Caracioni and the staff at Enchanted Smiles worked with Vicky to answer her questions, develop a treatment plan and get her the smile of her dreams. Now THAT’S something to smile about.
